Position: School Counselor

Location: Worcester, MA

Duration: Until the end of the 2024-2025 school year (June 13th)

Hourly Rate: $45+ per hour

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:55 AM - 2:30 PM (6.5 hours per day, guaranteed every week)

Start Date: ASAP

Job Description

Soliant Education is currently seeking an experienced School Counselor for a high school in Worcester, MA. The position involves supporting students with personal, social, and academic counseling, with a focus on course selection and post-secondary planning for juniors. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in high school counseling or the school "guidance" field.

Responsibilities

Provide personal, social, and academic counseling to students.
Assist with course selection and academic planning.
Support juniors with post-secondary planning and college readiness.
Work with a caseload of 230 students, offering guidance and support as needed.
Collaborate with staff and parents to support student success.
Address students' mental health concerns and work closely with faculty to create a supportive school environment.
Ensure compliance with school policies and Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education regulations.

Requirements

Licensure: Must hold a valid Massachusetts School Counselor or School Guidance Counselor license, Grades 5-12.
Experience: Prior experience in high school counseling or school guidance is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced school setting.
